Welcome to Hanover
MediaPsych 2027 will be hosted by the Department of Journalism and Communication Research in Hanover, Germany. The conference provides a space for presenting research, discussing theoretical and methodological developments, and connecting with colleagues from media psychology and related disciplines.
As the 15th Conference of the Media Psychology Division, MediaPsych 2027 continues a long-standing tradition of academic exchange on how people use, perceive and are affected by media in everyday life, society and digital environments.

Position papers and theoretical contributions will be presented in plenary talks. Extended abstracts up to 1,000 words are welcome.
Research Reports
Research reports present one or more empirical studies. Abstracts up to 300 words are welcome.
Open Format: What Media Psychologists Should Talk About
For open format sessions, please submit an extended abstract of up to 1,000 word.
JMP Special Selection Panel
In close collaboration with the Journal of Media Psychology this panel invites early-career scholars to submit extended abstracts of up to 1,500 words.
Hosted by the IJK
MediaPsych 2027 is hosted by the Institute for Journalism and Communication Research in Hannover, part of the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. The institute brings together perspectives from communication research, journalism studies and media psychology, providing an academic environment for interdisciplinary exchange.
